Recruiting: Planning the final stretch for Q4

Recruiting: Planning the final stretch for Q4

Time is ticking.  With the end of year approaching, hiring managers have less than ninety days to reach their talent acquisition goals.  Where are you with your hiring goals?  We’ve worked with plenty of clients to know this final stretch can be challenging.  But with careful planning the right knowhow, your goals can be completed in the nick of time.  Here’s some tips we’ve compiled to help hiring manager with their Q4 hiring demands.

1.  Review and revise job descriptions:  Sometimes when a candidate search comes up fruitless it means the job description needs refining.  Have another colleague or recruitment consultant review yours to give a fresh perspective.  Simple wordsmithing can include keywords that may have not been considered in the past.

2.  Review budgets to make its on track: Budgets can easily get cut during the year.  Double check with internal customers to make sure their budgets are set.  Doing so can save your company precious time and money.  How so?  Because a hiring manage may continue searching for a candidate which in the end can cost an organization significant dollars if a position has been cut.

3.  Take into account the holidays:  The fall holidays can sneak up on us.  Thanksgiving and December holidays can be a difficult time to search for talent and schedule interviews.  Take into account these days and the time-off many employees request.  Communication is essential when trying to schedule last minute or final interviews before the New Year.

4.  Manage expectations:  If there is no possible way to meet your hiring demands before the holidays begin, then it’s always best to manage your internal client’s expectations.  Having a back-up plan to reach those recruitment goals as well.  If the need is great, then hire a reputable outside agency to help.

These simple processes are several tips that have helped us thrive the last few months of the year.  What type of tactics does your organization use to reach their recruitment goals before the New Year begins?
