Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing using Skyward for all college employees, including both union and non-union groups. 


Key Responsibilities:
Payroll:

  • Accurately process biweekly and monthly payroll through Skyward, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and applicable laws.
  • Manage payroll for all employee groups, including faculty, adjuncts, classified staff, administrative personnel, and student workers—union and non-union alike.
  • Review and verify timesheets, employment changes, and leave balances.
  • Maintain payroll records and support year-end activities including W-2 distribution.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and reconcile earnings, deductions, and taxes.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll.
  • A background in education is preferred.
  • Experience working on Skyward (not required) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
