Due to growth, our company is immediately looking to onboard a Staff Accountant to our accounting team. The Staff Accountant is a hands-on role; we’re looking for someone to be responsible for the monthly closing process, presenting timely and accurate records, and analyzing financial statements to better understand trends and guide our business decisions. This position will be highly collaborative and analytical with the ability to drill down into costs to identify red flags and risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, enter and post various monthly journal entries: payroll entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, commission accruals, and fixed assets
  • Review month-end balance sheet account reconciliations and bank reconciliations as part of standard month procedure
  • Analyze the invoices, post expenses and balances to the account
  • Review all balance sheet accounts for accuracy, update account analyses, and maintain the backup records
  • Maintain fixed asset records
  • Maintain the final reports for the income statement, balance sheet and sales report
  • Maintain daily cash records, make bank transfer(s) enter cash and disbursements
  • Review A/P batches for accuracy of vendors, dates, accounts
  • Responsible for collections; update and monitor collection report, send reminders via email or calls
  • Responsible for updating postage reconciliation
  • Receive all inventory reports and update various Excel files
  • Other duties as assigned


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting highly preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in accountant role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with ERP software is a huge plus
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with superior problem-solving ability
  • Self-motivated with ability to proactively identify issues through thorough analysis
