We are a fast-growing manufacturing company seeking to add a Controller to our organization. This position is an important part of our executive team; if you can roll up your sleeves as a “doer” as well as a “thinker,” you won’t want to miss this opportunity for consideration.

The position requires a self-driven and highly motivated professional to lead the accounting and financial operations. The primary responsibility is to focus on serving as the senior financial leader for the organization with responsibility for planning and developing a vision for the company that emphasizes accountability, accuracy, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate must have a track record of getting things done, a personal style that relies on sound decision making, and solid business judgment to add value across the organization. The successful candidate will exhibit proven accounting and financial leadership skills in a complex, fast-paced, corporate environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of 6 to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and inventory control functions
  • Maintain a set of accounting policies which comply with best practice and within company guidelines and provide a sound basis for assessing financial performance and ensuring data integrity
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal guidelines
  • Train and develop accounting staff in their job responsibilities, addressing areas of weakness to resolve and correct
  • Coordinate the month end closing process including account analysis and reconciliation
  • Manage the annual budget process, including any necessary maintenance and re-forecasts during the fiscal year
  • Oversee treasury function including management of daily cash and revolving credit requirements
  • Provide financial analysis on ecommerce cost of delivery expense
  • Assist in the annual insurance renewal process to obtain appropriate insurance at a competitive price
  • Assist in developing, administering, and monitoring policies and operational procedures to ensure proper accounting and internal controls
  • Identify potential financial risks and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist in ERP and other accounting software projects
  • Assist in ad-hoc analysis and management reporting, as well as other special projects as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, currently holding a controller role or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Must come from a manufacturing background (industrial preferred)
  • Familiarity working in an ERP system
  • Managerial experience – at least 3 years
  • Professional abilities including effective communication and organizational skills to manage projects, deadlines, and other benchmarks
