2017 Chicagoland Job Seeker Benefits Survey 

Corporate Resources of Illinois hosted its first annual Chicagoland Job Seeker Benefits Survey to help local employers learn more about what job seekers want today. The survey was conducted over a 6-week period from August – October 2017 where we reached out to over 1500 job seekers in the Chicagoland area.   A sampling of survey findings showed that a variety of different results–some were expected while others were surprising.  Below are our key takeaways.

– Over 60% of job seekers indicated that benefits like Health Benefits/Insurance, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Leave, Dental Vision & 401K Benefits are “Very Important” but not “Deal Breakers.”

– 84% of job seekers indicated they have NEVER left a job for a change in benefits.

– Over 80% of job seekers surveyed indicated that getting the salary right is essential over the other benefits.

– 41% of job seekers prefer to connect with employers using a recruiter/employment agency.
